"We didn't like the AI, so we came to you"

ree

Since the new found freedom of AI image generation for creatively challenged people, I've been getting several requests for jobs saying:

"We didn't like the AI, so we came to you"

..and I truly think that being able to describe a visual is as much of a creative job than creating that visual. My job as a designer doesn't start with designing, it starts with communication and trying to read the client's mind. Considering how hard it is to sometimes fish out what the client might envision, I have no fear about AI taking my job.

The AI aesthetic

Additionally with the shifting aesthetics from SUPER HD looking to organic forms and people's visual wants leaning towards human connection oriented designs, I've been getting more requests to create hand made feeling visuals that communicate that: this product/design was made with love and intention and we didn't take the shortcut of AI.

How I use AI as a creative

I made sure to set up my ChatGpt in ways that override generic answers and I also use it to organize or scan through large information and clarify my communication. I'm the boss and it's my assistant. As for image generation, I think it's interesting to see what AI generates for a specific brand logo or a concept art piece. But honestly, I've never ended up using any of those generated images and always ended up using my own creations. I think ChatGpt is an incredible tool to organize my business and my cluttered artist brain. I will continue dabbling with the image/video generators and hopefully one day become good enough to use it like a professional. Because there are some AI artists out there who create a whole other world and it needs to be appreciated as well.

If I can leave you with ONE advice,

based on my experience with AI image generation, it's to use multiple systems to create the right prompt for the specific AI Image engine (paid always works better) and if you want to create a video, to have AI create keyframes first and then use those stills in the AI Video reference area to create your video.

That's all folks,

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to keep it to yourself.
